Here are the eight fundamental rules you need to know for understanding the verbs in Japanese.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Japanese verbs are <u>always<\/u> placed at the end of the sentence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Example:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u725b\u4e73\u3092<strong>\u98f2\u307f\u307e\u3059<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Gy\u016bny\u016b o <strong>nomimasu.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(I) <strong>drink<\/strong> milk.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>The same form of Japanese verbs is used regardless of which <a href=\"http:\/\/lingo-apps.com\/japanese-pronouns-grammar\/\">personal pronouns<\/a> were used. A sentence can be considered as grammatically complete sentence even when there is <u>only verb<\/u> in the sentence. Learn them well as the verb is probably the most important part of speech in Japanese!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u98f2\u307f\u307e\u3059<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">N<strong>omimasu.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Drink <\/strong>(I drink, you drink, he drinks, she drinks, we drink, they drink).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>There are only two tenses in Japanese: a present and a past. There is no true future tense in Japanese \u2013 future tense is expressed by the present tense as well.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u725b\u4e73\u3092<strong>\u98f2\u307f\u307e\u3059<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Gy\u016bny\u016b o <strong>nomimasu.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(I) <strong>drink<\/strong> milk.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u725b\u4e73\u3092<strong>\u98f2\u307f\u307e\u3057\u305f<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Gy\u016bny\u016b o <strong>nomimashita.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(I) <strong>drank<\/strong> milk.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Unlike English, we cannot simply add \u2018no\u2019 or \u2018not\u2019 to indicate negative sentences in Japanese. There are the special verbs to express them as in:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u725b\u4e73\u3092<strong>\u98f2\u307f\u307e\u305b\u3093<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Gy\u016bny\u016b o <strong>nomimasen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(I) <strong>d<\/strong><strong>o not d<\/strong><strong>rink<\/strong> milk.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u725b\u4e73\u3092<strong>\u98f2\u307f\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3067\u3057\u305f<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Gy\u016bny\u016b o <strong>nomimasen deshita.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(I) <strong>did not drink<\/strong> milk.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>There are roughly three different of politeness in Japanese: the plain form, <a href=\"http:\/\/lingo-apps.com\/polite-form-japanese\/\">the polite form<\/a>, and the advanced polite form. All the examples above (rule one until rule five) part of the polite form examples, which can be used with almost anyone in everyday conversation. In short, ru-verbs and u-verbs are called so because they are composed of \u2018verb stem\u2019 along with the suffixes \u2018ru\u2019 or \u2018u\u2019. Fortunately, there are only two irregular verbs in Japanese, \u6765\u308b (kuru) : to come and \u3059\u308b (suru): to do.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Examples of ru-verbs:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u98df\u3079<strong>\u308b<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Tabe<strong>ru<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To eat<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u898b<strong>\u308b<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Mi<strong>ru<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To see<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Examples of u-verbs:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u98f2<strong>\u3080<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">No<strong>mu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To drink<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u8cb7<strong>\u3046<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Ka<strong>u<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To buy<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The two irregular verbs:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u6765\u308b<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Kuru<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To come<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u3059\u308b<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Suru<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To do<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>The three group of verbs in Japanese allow us to define the verb conjugation rules.
