In short, \u5403 (ch\u012b) will always remain as \u5403 (ch\u012b) regardless of when you eat. On this lesson, let\u2019s learn how to express present tense in Chinese!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Adverb of Time<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Adverb of time is definitely the clearest way to determine the time when the action occurred. In other words, it means that an action is currently in progress.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u5728 (z\u00e0i) does not have a particular meaning. However, it holds an important role as a progressive marker.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Structure: Subject + \u5728 + Verb + Object<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u6211\u5728\u770b\u96fb\u8996\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u6211\u5728\u770b\u7535\u89c6\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">W\u01d2 z\u00e0i k\u00e0n di\u00e0nsh\u00ec.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I am watching TV.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u6b63\u5728 (zh\u00e8ng z\u00e0i) is used instead of \u5728 (z\u00e0i) to emphasize that the action is happening right now.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Structure: Subject + \u6b63\u5728 + Verb + Object<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u6211\u5011\u6b63\u5728\u958b\u6703\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u6211\u4eec\u6b63\u5728\u5f00\u4f1a\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">W\u01d2men zh\u00e8ngz\u00e0i k\u0101ihu\u00ec.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">We are in a meeting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u8457 [\u7740] (zhe) is also used to express that the action is ongoing, but it is not interchangeable with \u5728 (z\u00e0i) or \u6b63\u5728 (zh\u00e8ng z\u00e0i). \u8457 [\u7740] (zhe) is more like a way to <u>express a continuous static action. <\/u>\u00a0\u00a0In fact, the usage of \u8457 [\u7740] (zhe) in a sentence is not as frequent as the two examples before.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Structure: Subject + Verb + \u8457 [\u7740]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u4ed6\u7a7f\u8457\u4e00\u689d\u6dfa\u85cd\u7684\u896f\u886b\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u4ed6\u7a7f\u7740\u4e00\u6761\u6d45\u84dd\u7684\u886c\u886b\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">T\u0101 chu\u0101nzhu\u00f3 y\u012bti\u00e1o qi\u01cen l\u00e1n de ch\u00e8nsh\u0101n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">He is wearing a light blue shirt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s learn Chinese today!
