The good news is, you do not have to conjugate Japanese adjectives into the comparative form! All you need to do is to add the keywords \u2013 <strong>\u306e\u65b9<\/strong><strong>\u304c<\/strong><strong> (<\/strong><strong>no <\/strong><strong>h\u014d ga)<\/strong> and\/or <strong>\u3088\u308a<\/strong> <strong>(yori).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u306e\u65b9<\/strong><strong>\u304c<\/strong><strong> (no hou ga) <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We use \u306e\u65b9\u304c (no h\u014d ga) for doing comparisons. The object attached with \u306e\u65b9\u304c (no h\u014d ga) possess some characteristics greater than other things do.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Structure: [object with greater characteristics] + \u306e\u65b9\u304c<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It can be used alone without another thing to compare with. Examples:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u30c1\u30e5\u30fc\u30ea\u30c3\u30d7\u306e\u65b9\u304c\u7dba\u9e97\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Ch\u016brippu no h\u014d ga kirei desu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Tulip is more beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u65e5\u672c\u306e\u304a\u7c73\u306e\u65b9\u304c\u7f8e\u5473\u3057\u3044\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Nihon no okome no h\u014d ga oish\u012b desu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Japanese rice is more delicious.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u3088\u308a<\/strong><strong> (yori)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you need something to compare with, use \u3088\u308a (yori). Roughly translated as &#8216;<em>than&#8217;<\/em>, \u3088\u308a (yori) is a particle that placed after the object with fewer characteristics.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Structure: [object with fewer characteristics] + \u3088\u308a<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Therefore:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u30c1\u30e5\u30fc\u30ea\u30c3\u30d7\u306e\u65b9\u304c\u30d2\u30de\u30ef\u30ea\u3088\u308a\u7dba\u9e97\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Ch\u016brippu no h\u014d ga himawari yori kirei desu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Tulips are more beautiful than sunflowers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u65e5\u672c\u306e\u304a\u7c73\u306e\u65b9\u304c\u30a4\u30f3\u30c9\u306e\u304a\u7c73\u3088\u308a\u7f8e\u5473\u3057\u3044\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Nihon no okome no h\u014d ga indo no okome yori oish\u012b desu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Japanese rice is more delicious than Indian rice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3088\u308a (yori) can come earlier or later than \u306e\u65b9\u304c (no h\u014d ga), vice versa. Both are grammatically correct. Thus:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u5411\u65e5\u8475\u3088\u308a\u30c1\u30e5\u30fc\u30ea\u30c3\u30d7\u306e\u65b9\u304c\u7dba\u9e97\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Himawari yori ch\u016brippu no h\u014d ga kirei desu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Tulips are more beautiful than sunflowers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u30a4\u30f3\u30c9\u306e\u304a\u7c73\u3088\u308a\u65e5\u672c\u306e\u304a\u7c73\u306e\u65b9\u304c\u7f8e\u5473\u3057\u3044\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Indo no okome yori nihon no okome no h\u014d ga oish\u012b desu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Japanese rice is more delicious than Indian rice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Read:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lingo-apps.com\/japanese-chinese-characters-different\/\">Chinese Characters of Japanese and Chinese Are Not All The Same!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u3088\u308a<\/strong><strong>\u3082<\/strong><strong> (yorimo)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In some cases, you will find people attach the \u3082 (-mo) on \u3088\u308a (yori). It adds emphasis but rarely used in a spoken way.
