What is simple future tense?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Simple future tense is used to indicate things or actions that have not happened yet. As long as the time of the actions takes place later than now, they are all regarded as simple future tense.<\/p>\n

When should we use simple future tense?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Use simple future tense for:<\/p>\n

  1. Predicting a future event<\/li>\n
  2. Showing a spontaneous decision<\/li>\n
  3. Giving an order or invitation (using \u2018will<\/em>\u2019)<\/li>\n
  4. Conveying a suggestion (using \u2018shall<\/em>\u2019)<\/li>\n
  5. Expressing willingness (positive sentences) or unwillingness (negative sentences)<\/li>\n
  6. Asking an advice (interrogative, using \u2018shall<\/em>\u2019)<\/li>\n
  7. Offering an action (interrogative, using \u2018shall<\/em>\u2019)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    How to form a simple future tense sentence?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Positive Sentences<\/u><\/h4>\n

    Structure:<\/p>\n

    Subject + Will\/Shall + Verb 1<\/p>\n

    Subject + Am\/Is\/Are + Going To + Verb 1<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Negaitive Sentences <\/u><\/h4>\n

    Subject + Will\/Shall + Not + Verb 1<\/p>\n

    Subject + Am\/Is\/Are + Not + Going To + Verb 1<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    Will\/Shall + Subject + Verb 1 + ?<\/p>\n

    Note: Verb 1<\/em> or infinitive form<\/em> is a verb that uses the root form of the verb.<\/p>\n

    What is the general rule for the verbs?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Simple future tense sentences can be formed using the helping verb \u2018will<\/em>\u2019 or \u2018shall<\/em>\u2019 and also the verb \u2018to be + going to<\/em>\u2019. The verbs that used in simple future tense sentences are in the infinitive forms (without additional -s<\/em> or -es<\/em> for the 3rd<\/sup> singular subjects).<\/p>\n

    Predicting a future event:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    A heavy snow will occur tomorrow.<\/p>\n

    A heavy snow will not occur tomorrow.<\/p>\n
